National Cyber Scholarship This program is a charitable foundation established to help the United States fill critical cybersecurity skills gaps. The program aims to identify and support the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
The competition consisted of 200 complex challenges designed to assess participants’ problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and critical thinking skills. These challenges included a wide range of areas such as cyber forensics, puzzle/cryptanalysis, and programming. Your performance in the competition demonstrated your mastery of various cybersecurity concepts and techniques, from vulnerability identification to operating systems.
Mohammad Katu, Dean of GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology said: “Their success in the National Cyber Scholarship Program is a testament to their hard work and the rigorous education they received here at EMU,” Kathu said.
Dr. Jonathan Waratkiewicz, a student majoring in Cybersecurity and Applied Computing, Information Assurance Student Association (IASA) ClubHe emphasized the importance of recognition.
“Being selected as a National Cyber Scholar is more than just a personal achievement, it is a reflection of the incredible support and guidance I have received from EMU professors and mentors,” he said. “This recognition motivates us to continue striving for excellence and contributing to the field of cybersecurity.”
As National Cyber Scholars, each student will: Cyber Foundation Academy, a digital scholar badge worth over $3,000. Students also gained access to exclusive networking opportunities, mentorship from leading industry experts, and potential career paths in the cybersecurity field. A free Global Information Assurance Certification Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies certification exam is offered to students who complete the self-paced course. A student will be named an Honors Scholar if she passes certification by September 15, 2023. This achievement provides the possibility of further training, certification, and internships.
