Samsung’s The Frame TV has been a big success in recent years because it fits into your home much more aesthetically than the drab black rectangle of a traditional TV. Featuring customizable bezels (including stylish wooden options), a matte screen, and a vast collection of famous artwork that appears on The Frame’s display when idle, design his pieces as convincingly as his It plays two roles. It’s a TV for people who don’t want their TV to look like a piece of technology.
For 2024, Samsung is expanding The Frame brand with the new Music Frame. This version isn’t actually TV at all. It’s a music speaker. It’s best to think of it as Samsung’s version of the Sonos/Ikea Symfonisk frame speaker. There is a physical print on the front. Samsung says this will be customizable once orders open. (And yes, if you pony up Samsung’s latest 2024 TV, like anti-glare OLED, you’ll be able to use Music Frame for surround sound audio.)
“This customizable speaker blends seamlessly into your environment by camouflaging it as a modern picture frame to display your art and photos,” Samsung’s press release states. The company has not yet released pricing information for the Music Frame (the Sonos/Ikea frame speaker costs $259.99), but I’m guessing Samsung’s new speaker will start shipping in the spring along with the rest of its new TV and home theater lineup. Expect.
