In late summer, a neighbor provided us with beautiful Italian plums from a small grove of five trees. This year we had a big harvest. I made plum cake, plum jam, and pickled plums, and froze two large bags of plums that I washed, pitted, and cut in half.
Lately, it’s been getting colder, so I’ve been thinking about shoe stores. His warm and delicious fruit cobbler is one of our favorite desserts. I found some frozen plums and decided to use them at the shoe store. Create easy recipes using fresh or frozen blackberries, plums, peaches, and strawberries.
fruit cobbler recipe
(8-10 servings)
material
2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen fruit. (If frozen, thaw and drain.)
1 cup sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 tablespoons water
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup melted butter
(See the printable .PDF file attached to this story.)
Butter a regular baking pan and preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Clean the fruits, cut them and remove the seeds. Place in a large bowl. Peel the peaches, but leave the skin on the plums. Berries do not need to be cut. If the fruit is frozen, thaw it.
Add 1 cup of sugar to the fruit and stir. The fruit syrup will be ready within 10-20 minutes. Mix cornstarch with water and add to fruit. Place fruit mixture in prepared baking pan.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Once mixed, add milk. Stir in the melted butter until a soft dough forms. Then gently cover the fruit with the dough.
Bake at 375 degrees until the cobbler crust is light golden brown, about 1 hour. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream.
enjoy!
