With the summit underway in Delhi, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak took a break from his busy schedule to offer prayers at New Delhi’s Akshardham Temple on Sunday morning.

The British Prime Minister’s motorcade was seen arriving at the temple ahead of the start of the second day session of the G20 summit. Before his arrival, an elaborate security arrangement had been put in place around the temple and its surroundings.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sunak had said he would visit a temple in Delhi on Sunday. He also described himself as a “proud Hindu” and said he had great respect for Modi and was keen to help him lead the G20 to great success.
During his visit to Akshardham temple, he performed puja and aarti with deep faith. He was also offered a model of the temple as a gift.
In a conversation with ANI, Rishi Sunak expressed his intention to visit the temple during his stay for the G20 summit. He also said he was unable to attend this year’s Janmashtami celebrations.
“I’m a proud Hindu. That’s how I was raised and that’s how I live. I hope I can visit the Mandir during my stay here for the next few days. Just Raksha Bandhan. I have just eaten , so I am getting all the Rakhi from my sister and cousin,” Rishi Sunak said.
According to Akshardham Temple Director Jyothindra Dave, the British Prime Minister and Mrs. Akshatta Morthy enjoyed every moment at the temple with sincere devotion.
