A few weeks ago, Hilton began consolidating its Small Luxury Hotel (SLH) properties with the addition of three new properties: Terranca Formentera (one in the Balearic Islands), Nobu Hotel Marbella in Spain, and Flemings Mayfair in London.
That list has now expanded to a total of 18 properties, including properties in Scotland, Denmark, Hong Kong, China and Nicaragua.
You can see the updated list hereTwo of the highlights on this list are highly rated Carrara Island, Nicaragua And that Grand Hotel Victoria Concept and Spa – Lake Como, ItalyThe latter is a property Nick has visited a few times (see his reviews here and here), but we were unable to find availability at either property.
In fact, I had a hard time finding availability at the few hotels I looked at. It looks like Hilton is in the process of properly consolidating these hotels, so it’s worth checking back daily if there’s one you’re particularly interested in. Even if you do get a date where you can book with points, the availability is likely to disappear quickly.
I found at least one hotel that had rooms available. Rusty Parrot Lodge and Spa, Jackson, Wyoming Located a short drive from Grand Teton National Park and 1-2 hours from Yellowstone National Park, this hotel has about a two-week window in late October and early November where you can book with cash or points. Cash rates range from $435-640 before taxes and fees, and points bookings cost 94,000-105,000 points. That means you’re getting a value of 0.46-0.61cpp (cents per point). That’s not amazing at the lower end, but a bit better at the higher end, especially if you can take advantage of Hilton’s 5th night free reward offer.
Hilton will likely continue to gradually roll out SLH properties over time, so we’ll keep you posted as we learn more about more hotels opening.
