Fourth of July traffic caused chaos in Azusa on Thursday.
By about 11 a.m., the California Highway Patrol, with assistance from Azusa police and the Los Angeles County Fire Department, were working to stop more vehicles from reaching the worst sections of congestion at East Fork Road and Glendora Mountain Road.
The long line of cars seemed to stretch for miles along the winding road.
The vehicles appeared to be heading to a campground or to swim in the river, with double-parked vehicles exceeding the space.
