It’s been a roller coaster for this couple.
An embarrassing incident at SeaWorld, Florida has forced a theme park-loving couple to make a series of dramatic lifestyle changes, SWNS reported.
“In 2017, I sat in a Mako test ride at SeaWorld, and unfortunately the bar that held me in place couldn’t get past my legs,” said the most 43-year-old man, who weighed over 300 pounds. said Tracy Lord, 28.
“I tried to brush off one of the things I didn’t like about my body while riding in Florida, but when I got home I felt so weak that something clicked,” says a woman from Wigan, England. added.
Lord and her husband Steve loved eating fast food at the time, and Tracy said she typically ate up to 3,000 calories a day.
But the SeaWorld incident stuck with her, and it turned out to be the reason the couple, who have been together for 21 years, decided to seriously try to lose weight.
Tracy lost six dress sizes in 18 months, while Steve lost dozens of pounds thanks to his wife.
“After losing, [70 pounds]I think Steve realized he could do the same thing by changing his diet,” she said.
“We’re each other’s biggest supporters, and even though some days we snack a little too much, we’re there to encourage each other and get back on track.”
They started eating better, and Tracy started eating a lot more healthy food and started exercising regularly.
Tracy also started learning to cook healthy meals that mimic the take-out foods she had always eaten, such as Chinese food.
Even when tragedy struck in 2022 when Tracy was diagnosed with breast cancer, the married relatives still made progress toward their health goals.
“I’m determined to keep losing weight,” she said, referring to her “normal” diagnosis last October.
It was around that time that the two returned to SeaWorld to ride the roller coaster as a symbol of progress.
“Looking back on this year, I’m so glad we both were able to enjoy the holidays without feeling tired and hot all the time,” Tracy said.
“Steve and I had a very strong relationship. Healthy eating brought us even closer…I never thought it would be possible.”
