This training will be delivered through IBM’s SkillsBuild platform. This is a free educational program designed to help adult learners, high school students, college students, and teachers develop new skills and access career opportunities.
SkillsBuild is an online platform that can be accessed from anywhere and on any device, offering 1,000 courses in 20 languages on AI, cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, and many other technical fields.
“We need to show that it is possible, and the platform needs to be comprehensive, accessible and very easy to use,” Jiao said.
He emphasized the importance of preparing for jobs related to artificial intelligence, as the World Economic Forum says around 85 million jobs could be replaced by AI.
“We all need to think about the case in any environment, even within the academy, but we need to incorporate it early,” Zhao said.
The partnership began with teacher training at the Universidad de San Fernando. The agency is exploring collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Commission and the Ministry of Labor to upskill students and workers.
