A beauty technician has divided opinion online after sharing a unique manicure trend: bejeweled nails for men.
Anuska Scarlett Anastasia is co-founder of Nuka Nails in West London. Instagram To debut the “Chained Windows Men’s Mani,” this is a type of nail art that features a silver jewelry chain molded around a well-manicured nail.
Using a male model to demonstrate the eye-catching pieces, Anuska said she was “obsessed” with the look, adding that the trend has a “serious masculine energy”. He called on more men to join the trend.
Despite her declaration, many were quick to criticize the style, with some women saying they would be hesitant to date a man who wears it, and others branding her a “genius.” There were also women.
In the video’s voiceover, Anuska says, “I truly think this might be the most elite men’s manicure I’ve ever done.”
“So I was first inspired by Grillz and this look, the simplicity of the windows.
“As soon as I got this sterling silver, yes, sterling silver chain from Pup Up Jewelry, I knew what I had to do.
“We’re giving away a men’s mani with chained windows.”
This clip details the step-by-step process behind the manicure from start to finish.
It started with a shot of her well-manicured and trimmed nails, complete with a thick coat of glossy “super clean” clear nail polish.
She then applied what looked like a thick tube of clear nail glue around the nail bed.
Once set and dry, she attached a thin line of silver chain-link jewelry around the contour of the nail bed, taking the time to make sure it was attached to all four corners of the model’s nail.
The influencer then used a sharp tool to cut off the remaining unused portion of the silver chain.
Explaining her method in more detail, she continued: “We nail two statement metal profiles onto a super clean clear base with a mix of matte and gloss finishes.
“Honestly, I’m obsessed. I’m all for men doing their nails.”
Later, content creators questioned the strictness of so-called social norms and urged both men and women to do such manicures more regularly.
“I’ve been saying for years that nail art isn’t just for women,” she continued. “Why should that be?”
“And to be honest, I feel like this design might change some people’s minds. It’s very different from the classic nail art that we all know, which is probably more feminine.”
“Personally, I think this has some serious mass energy. To me, this is basically like jewelry, but for your nails.
“Just like men accessorize with rings, necklaces, and earrings, what makes this different?”
“Is it just not normal for men to do nail art yet?” I feel like this narrative needs to change and normalize because this is a cosmetic issue. ”
She concluded by asking her fans to weigh in on the look before imploring them to respond “respectfully.”
Perhaps predictably, the video has since gone viral, garnering a whopping 3.6 million views and over 1,800 comments.
Unfortunately, some viewers ignored her request to be civil and instead posted some negative remarks.
“Stop encouraging men to be more feminine,” one declared. You are all killing us and you don’t even realize it. ”
Another person labeled the whole idea “off” and explained why: “I like the idea, it’s super cute, but I don’t think it’s normal for men to paint and decorate their nails this much.” I don’t think so,” he wrote. But each is unique. In my opinion, it looks weird to the average straight guy.
Show him your nails to ask, “Do you like my new design?” Just like animals, we are all different and we are not trying to resemble each other. So why do we have to share the same things now? Like are certain things only for us girls/women or will they eventually be all of us? [going to] Is it the same?
Agreeing with this sentiment, another person said: “I don’t think that’s very masculine.” Men should never do that. A clean hand with a little clear polish is sufficient. All of that is unnecessary, since humans work with their hands to show off.”
One woman, on the other hand, said it was “very unisex” and “loved it”. I don’t mind men painting their nails, it’s all about self-expression. Become addicted to! ! ! ‘
“You are a genius on another level,” another commented.
