The Indianola School Board approved an information technology incident response plan at Monday’s meeting that details steps the district would take in the event of an emergency. Superintendent Ted Innes told KNIA News that the district takes cybersecurity very seriously and commends staff for their efforts to run operations as safely as possible.
“Obviously, cybersecurity is a big issue right now. Ray Coffey, our IT director, is very concerned about what would happen if something were to happen or if someone hacked into our systems, or those things. They’ve done a great job of researching how to prevent it and putting together a plan. We just want to stay ahead of the game and have procedures in place in case something happens. People. knows what to do, so we’re never in a situation where we don’t know what to do.”
