NetWitness, a network security company and RSA security business, is more focused on integration than offering SASE products, said Ben Smith, the company’s field CTO. NetWitness aims to help organizations adopt a SASE architecture that combines network and security services, primarily to enhance packet-level visibility, he said.
“There will always be technologies and business use cases that require on-premises or legacy architectures. As we move forward, many of them will be built on cloud-based, especially SASE architectures,” said Smith. I’m here. “We don’t want to be a vendor with a one-way ticket to the cloud.
In a video interview with the Information Security Media Group at Black Hat USA 2023, Smith also discussed:
- That basic security hygiene remains a major concern in the industry.
- The deep-rooted problem of insider threats, whether malicious or caused by human error.
- How NetWitness is helping clients navigate the complexities of the modern cybersecurity environment.
Smith has over 25 years of experience in the information security, risk management, networking and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining NetWitness, he was a Senior Sales Engineer at Verdiem. He is a patent holder and has served as corporate representative for the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence.
