FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki says even the studio’s staff is on the side of the fans when it comes to porting the epic PlayStation-exclusive game Bloodborne to PC.
talk PC GamerMiyazaki, sitting alongside producer Yasuhiro Kitao and translator Bobby Simpson, commented (through an interpreter): “It’s true that they want a PC version of Bloodborne. If I said I wanted one, I’d be in trouble, too. But I’m not opposed to it.”
This is consistent with recent comments from the president and director. I said in February Miyazaki said he is “very happy” that so many fans want a remake or re-release of Bloodborne. Since 2019, he’s “not the one making the decisions.” As for something like Bloodborne 2, even if it was the game that was closest to his heart, or at least it was, these comments predate Elden Ring and it’s unclear what Miyazaki’s latest thoughts are.
But this time around, Miyazaki was more clear about his personal stance on this well-known topic, stopping short of handing the ball directly to Bloodborne’s IP owner, Sony.
“Obviously, as one of the creators of Bloodborne, my personal and honest opinion is that I want more players to enjoy it,” Miyazaki continued. “Especially as a game that is now reaching its maturity, as one of the games of the past that was forgotten on older hardware, I think it would be good if more players had the opportunity to experience it and relive this relic of the past. So, for me, I’m not opposed to that.”
Nine years later, there’s still been no sign of a Bloodborne remake, remaster, PC port, or frankly anything It’s a timeless dream, comparable to the famous silent game showcase Moby Dick. Hollow Knight SilksongWhile Miyazaki isn’t among the PC gamers screaming in the streets (see the YouTube chat from the PlayStation State of Play show), this is the first time he’s so directly endorsed the idea.
Although Bloodborne didn’t appear in this week’s State of Play, Bloodborne Kart (Nightmare Kart) did.
