Inflation in Japan slowed for a second month, giving central bankers a reason to wait before ending their negative interest rate policy.
While the data supports the view that Bank of Japan officials will not be in a rush to raise interest rates for the first time since 2007 when they meet next week, utility rates remained elevated and suggest eventual policy normalization is still on the table.
