Pixel 8 camera specs and a new AI promotional video for the phone have been posted. 91 mobile, Courtesy of the leaker Kamila WojciechowskaGet your first real look at how Google is further integrating AI into its flagship smartphones (via 9to5Google).
Magic Editor, which the company announced earlier this year would be coming to “select” Pixel smartphones, is like a souped-up version of Magic Eraser. You can remake the photos you took as you like. It’s shown in a demonstration where she takes three photos of her family riding a merry-go-round and combines them into one shot of her so everyone is smiling and looking at the camera at the same time.
The company also demonstrated Magic Editor by moving subjects within an image, pulling out background objects, and replacing a midday sky with a sunset. This also changes the overall mood of the lighting in your photo. It’s all very similar to what Google first showed on I/O back in May. It also provides good fodder for the argument that the line between what is photographed and what is not is becoming increasingly blurred.
The video also showcases new DSLR-style manual camera controls, as well as a focus slider, which allows you to fine-tune the shutter speed and ISO of your images, rather than the usual tap-to-focus in the built-in camera app.
Specs posted by Wojciechowska Pixel 8 Pro has a better camera system with a new 48MP ultra-wide camera with a 125.5-degree field of view and 48MP telephoto, and both cameras feature a 50MP wide-angle camera. Looking at the specs, the Pixel 8 has a 12MP ultra-wide camera similar to the Pixel 7 Pro, increasing the field of view from 114 degrees to 125.8 degrees.
