Instructions:
donut
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Grease a donut pan with cooking spray or butter. If you don’t have a donut pan, you can use a muffin tin instead.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, brown sugar, maple syrup, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and stir until a smooth batter forms.
- Pour the batter into the donut molds with a spoon, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
- Place the donut pan in the oven and bake for 12 to 13 minutes, or until the donuts are lightly golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of the donut comes out clean.
- Remove the pan from the oven and place the donuts on a cooling rack for 5 minutes.
glaze
- While the donuts are cooling, prepare the glaze. Melt 1/4 cup unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Tip: You can brown the butter for added flavor if desired.
- Once the butter has melted, remove from the heat and add the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla extract and mix until the glaze is smooth and well combined.
- Dip the cooled donuts in the glaze, letting excess glaze drip off. Return the glazed donuts to the wire rack and let stand for a few minutes.
