Marriott Bonvoy pushes updates to the Bonvoy Guest Loyalty Program Terms and Conditions on a monthly and sometimes bi-monthly basis.
Now, a small but significant change could impact Fairfield Hotel points and elite nightly earnings.

Marriott has made the following updates:
xxiii.Fairfield® by Marriott – All locations except
- Fairfield by Marriott Copenhagen Nordhavn Participates in the Loyalty Program as follows:
(1) Earn points or miles as described in Section 2, except as follows: The members are Earn 5 base points For every U.S. dollar spent on qualifying charges.
(2) Redeem Points as described in Section 3;
(3) Member received benefits as defined in Articles 1 and 4, except: Members receive one benefit. (1) Elite Night Credit for every 2 qualifying nights For each Qualifying Stay completed.
(4) Marriott Bonvoy events described in Section 5;

Therefore, this change does not make much sense.
Why would Marriott lower the number of nights eligible for points and elite status at this particular Fairfield property and not at other properties?
Can I expect Fairfield points and nights to be reduced at all other properties or just European properties?
conclusion
I’m not a big fan of the multiple exceptions Marriott Bonvoy has had over the years, but I have to give them credit for removing most of them.
But why now suddenly we have a property in Fairfield, Copenhagen with half its revenue? It makes no sense.
