Starpath Robots She emerges from stealth with an ambitious plan to design, launch, and operate machines to extract and purify water for rocket fuel using resources found on the Moon and Mars.
Using on-site water resources for the purposes of making rocket fuel is not a new idea. Rocket propellant is a mixture of liquid oxygen (LOX) and some other combustible fuel, such as hydrogen, kerosene, or methane. Because there is so much water on the Moon and Mars, people have long speculated that these resources could be used to make propellants in space, and build a self-sufficient off-world human colony.
