GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Gerald R. Ford International Airport is hosting a month-long scavenger hunt event where contestants can win $300 in airline tickets, apparel and other merchandise.
The contest, which begins Monday, Jan. 22 and runs through Feb. 18, asks participants to spot and take photos of signs around Grand Rapids that highlight one of the 30 non-stop destinations the airport offers. It turns out.
The first person to find and record all 30 signs, or the person who finds the most by the end of the contest, will win a $300 flight ticket, among other prizes.
Only one winner will be selected for the grand prize, but runners-up will receive a T-shirt or hoodie, a gift card to the airport’s online store, exclusive Ford Airport branded socks and more.
A complete list of contest rules, prizes, and number of contestants eligible to win prizes in each category is available at: grr.org/jointhehunt.
To participate in the Scavenger Hunt, participants download the app “Goosechase” from the app store, create an account, use the code “GRR2024” to access the event, and begin completing the “mission.”
Each mission encourages participants to earn points by taking photos of billboards marking non-stop flight destinations from Ford Airport.
“We’re using traditional media in a more non-traditional way,” said Hayley Abbas, a spokeswoman for Ford Airport. “Through this strategy, we combined outdoor advertising with fun, creative, and interactive experiences to connect with our community while promoting non-stop flights.”
Ford Airport, located at 5500 44th St. SE in Cascade Township, is Michigan’s second-busiest airport.
