Microsoft’s The $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard Inc. has cleared the final regulatory hurdle and is one step closer to completing the largest gaming deal in history after Britain’s competition authority indicated it was willing to accept the latest concessions. It looks like the wait of more than a year and a half will come to an end.
The Competition and Markets Authority announced on Friday that Microsoft’s proposal had opened the door to a deal. The revised proposal was to sell some game rights to French publisher Ubisoft Entertainment SA. This will keep cloud gaming competition open for years, the regulator said. The proposal will be discussed until October 6th.
