Along with advances in artificial intelligence Windows 11 and Bing, Microsoft also announced this week that it will be bringing new AI-powered features to its system SwiftKey mobile keyboard app For iOS and Android. This third-party app allows users to replace the virtual keyboard on their phone with a smart keyboard that learns your writing style so you can type faster. Now, it will also include AI camera lenses, AI stickers, an AI-powered editor, and the ability to create AI photos from the app.
New AI camera lenses will let users create photos, videos and GIFs with different effects, including lenses powered by Microsoft’s collaboration with Snapchat maker Snap. The company notes that there are now more than 250 tools and filters available to help you express yourself.
Also new are AI stickers that can be produced by Bing’s Image Creator, which lets you create stickers based on your photos or selfies. You can then share these with friends and family when chatting in different communication apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.
Bing Image Creator can now also be accessed directly from the app’s keyboard, allowing you to take a photo or upload an existing one to get Bing’s visual search results in the app.
Additionally, the app gains an AI-powered “Editor” feature that will help users improve their grammar, spelling, and punctuation. To use this option, you can highlight any sentence and then get instant feedback and suggestions from the editor.
Microsoft has been upgrading SwiftKey for several months, having earlier this year linked the app with Bing to allow users to search with Bing, chat with Bing Chat, or leverage AI to customize the tone of their text.
New features in SwiftKey are rolling out to both iOS and Android.
