Activision released a new Zombies mode alongside Modern Warfare 3, but players haven’t really responded to the changes from the previous game.
Modern Warfare 3 was released with Operation Deadbolt. This is a new Zombies mode with some significant changes from its predecessor, including a larger map and objective-based rather than round-based challenges.
The developer has changed the mode to bring it closer to Warzone, a hugely successful mode in the franchise, similar to how some streamers like MoistCr1tikal have changed this year’s campaign, which caused outrage.

But despite Activision’s hopes that players would enjoy the changes, streamers and players have been disappointed with Zombie Operation Deadbolt.

Long-time favorite zombie content creator Noah J456who is known for completing insane challenges, posted a clip on social media talking about how upset he was with the mode, sparking discussion in the community.
“The story so far doesn’t exist, it’s really boring, it’s garbage.”

Some people disagreed with NoahJ456 and liked the changes, like the player who retweeted the clip with the caption. ”

One fan said, “Literally the best zombie ever (lol).” “I love a good Easter egg, but many are far too complicated,” said another.
But for every comment celebrating the new Zombies mode, there were more than twice as many complaining about it. “No, they could have handled the zombies better. I honestly think it’s laziness that they chose this path,” one person wrote. “Dude, this zombie mode is complete garbage,” another added.

But even players who aren’t fans of the new Zombie Operation Deadbolt are finding uses for it, such as using the mode to complete the Modern Warfare 3 Armory Challenge.
