Top US YouTuber, MrBeast (Jamie Donaldson) co-founded the new analytics platform View statsIt is now available in beta version. Similar tools like Social codeViewStats uses the YouTube API to reveal detailed statistics about which channels creators and fans can watch.
MrBeast didn’t become one of the highest-paid creators of all time by accident. He’s meticulous about every last detail of his videos — and he recently ran an A/B test to see if his videos performed better using a thumbnail where his mouth is open, or a thumbnail where it’s not (apparently, Closed mouth thumbnails Wins). So, if certain metrics are thought to be essential to an analytics platform, they are likely to be important.
Founded alongside Chucky Appleby, a content creator who works with MrBeast, ViewStats distinguishes itself with this star power. Celebrity-backed startups aren’t always as big as they may seem, but in this case, star power shouldn’t be underestimated. I witnessed this phenomenon firsthand, when I attended a panel discussion hosted by MrBeast on understanding the YouTube algorithm. The seats filled up so quickly, with so many people being turned away at the door, that VidCon probably could have allocated a room twice its size and still have an overflow line — any creator, regardless of genre, wanted to hear what the king of the algorithm had to say.
Like Socialblade, ViewStats displays key information like subscriber numbers, estimated monthly ad revenue, video views, and how those numbers fluctuate over a given period of time. ViewStats is also available as a Chrome extension. Appleby said The platform will add more tools in the future, including thumbnail analysis tools. As of now, it’s not clear how the platform plans to monetize, but Socialblade monetizes through a paywall for some of the more advanced analytics.
according to Tube filterViewStats is a separate company from MrBeast, LLC. Both MrBeast and Appleby, who is CEO, funded the endeavor with their own money.
