Fans of the Marvel vs. Capcom game series are reacting angrily to the recent revelation that the recently announced Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection will not be coming to Xbox alongside the other games.
The collection was announced during Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct presentation and will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC, though no indication has been given for Microsoft’s consoles so far.
It’s unclear why Capcom won’t release this on Xbox, but a number of titles announced during the Summer Game Fest event have also been confirmed to skip the Xbox platform.
The hashtag “No Xbox” trended both at the time of the announcement and afterward, and as users pointed out, previous Capcom collections have always been released on Xbox, leading some to wonder why this time was different.
This is especially puzzling since another Capcom collection, the Ace Attorney title, has also been announced and is set to come to Xbox.
The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection includes six games: X-Men Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom Clash of Super Heroes, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 New Age of Heroes and The Punisher.
The collection is scheduled to be released on various platforms this fall.
