Over the past 24 hours, several people have taken to social media to announce that they are facing layoffs at Microsoft.
It’s not immediately clear how many employees are affected, or if they’re among the 1,500 expected to be laid off in June. Insider Gaming has spotted four people who have announced they are leaving the company.
Angela Vines, senior product manager at Microsoft I have written“Hi everyone! Due to recent layoffs at Microsoft, my position has been eliminated and I am now looking for my next career adventure. It has been an incredible experience and I am so grateful for the opportunity I was given.”
Jessabirdy appears on X (formerly Twitter) Said“Unfortunately, my role at Microsoft has been discontinued. To everyone who was a part of Team Xbox, thank you. I hope I made you all proud. <3"
Corey Ebert, Technical Program Manager Said“We never thought today would come to this. After nearly 15 years (yes, seriously, less than two months), due to changing business direction and circumstances, Microsoft has decided to end our collaboration with our company, effective immediately.”
Microsoft announced earlier this year that it would lay off 1,900 employees at the company, and in May 2024 it was also announced that Xbox would close four game studios, including Tango Gamewords and Arkane Austin.
