“This includes increasing employee salaries to bring them in line with the cost of living, providing financial incentives for loyalty, conducting ethics training that emphasizes cybersecurity responsibilities, monitoring employee behavior, and This includes implementing robust cybersecurity protocols such as factor authentication.
“Given the events of 2023, when Nigeria witnessed the destructive power of cyber hacktivism after the Niger coup, it is very likely that we will see an increase in similar activity in 2024.”
To mitigate the growing threat of cyber hacktivism in 2024, Nigeria needs to adopt a multi-pronged approach, the report says. Strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure is paramount.
