Marquette, MI — NMU Upper Peninsula Cybersecurity Institute Director Michael Sauer has been named to the State Cybersecurity Planning Committee for State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Programs.
This commission is authorized by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget. It helps businesses address cybersecurity risks and threats to information systems owned or operated by state, local, or territorial governments. The committee will also help develop the state’s cybersecurity plan and identify projects that can be implemented with SLCGP funds.
The committee will be chaired by Jason Cavendish, Michigan’s state cybersecurity official. He and other program managers are scheduled to travel north to attend the Upper Peninsula Cybersecurity Symposium on Sept. 25.th. They will discuss the SLCGP program and funding opportunities with attendees.
