Cyber fraud is so ubiquitous that one in five people fell victim to it in the past year alone. In response to this alarming statistic, cyber safety expert Norton has partnered with Emmy Award-winning creator Dan Levy to introduce Norton His Genie, a global fraud detection app, to the public. .
Norton Genie can accurately identify cyber scams designed to lure unsuspecting victims away from their money and personal information. This free app allows users to evaluate online content such as texts, emails, and social media posts in real time, sorting out legitimate from fraudulent content.
When you upload a potentially fraudulent screenshot, the app performs an on-the-spot assessment, explaining why the content is suspicious and offering advice on what to do next. Within the past month, the app has scanned thousands of uploads and identified nearly half of them as valid scams.
Dan Levy, who was praised for his creative achievements, talked about why he wanted to be a part of this project. He admitted that he himself received an email asking him to click on a random link to receive a reward. “It’s so easy these days to be tricked into opening, clicking, or sharing shady links. Genie helps identify these scams and prevents you from becoming a victim of money or personal information sharing. The fact that it can help is a very important tool,” he said.
Ondrej Vlcek, President of Gen, called for attention to the adaptation and evolution of fraud due to complex technology. He saw the introduction of Norton Genie as a proactive attempt to counter this sophistication. “As the cyber threat landscape becomes more complex, Norton Genie makes it as easy as possible to protect yourself from fraud 24/7. We’ve gathered learnings and results that enable us to meet demand: increase potential, meet customer needs, and help people navigate the digital world securely, privately, and confidently. “I do,” he said.
The collaboration with Dan Levy is part of Norton Genie’s efforts to raise awareness about the prevalence and power of modern fraud. Appears in :60, :30, :15 spots on various digital his platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
