oreo dip recipe
Whether it’s a party, potluck, or holiday, dessert dips like Oreo dip are my favorite dish. It’s perfect for any occasion, so easy to make, and I always end up eating it. This Oreo dip recipe is very similar to my festive Little Debbie’s Christmas Tree Dip. It’s a simple mix of cream cheese, vanilla, and whipped topping, but it’s sweetened with crushed Oreo cookies and a little powdered sugar instead of Little Debbie Snacks. The best combination!
It’s so delicious that you’ll want to eat it with a spoon! However, it’s also great with a variety of ladles. Choose your favorite cookie assortment, from graham crackers and leek wafers to butter cookies, shortbread cookies, extra Oreos, and crushed waffle cones. You can also enjoy it with fresh fruit! Oreos are great on their own, but this dip will make you fall in love with Oreos. Please, try it!
Materials needed
This Oreo dip recipe requires only 6 simple ingredients! They flock to you for the most amazing treat! Exact measurements can be found in the recipe card below.
- Oreo cookies: To add lots of Oreo flavor to your dip, you’ll need to crush 20 regular Oreo cookies.
- Cream cheese: We recommend full-fat cream cheese at room temperature for added creaminess and mild sweetness and tanginess.
- icing sugar: With just the right amount of sweetness and a smooth texture.
- Vanilla extract: The warm vanilla flavor balances the sweetness and sourness of the cream cheese.
- salt: Just a pinch of salt brings all the flavors together.
- Whipped topping: Add Cool Whip or other dessert toppings for a light, airy, and luscious consistency.
How to make oreo dip
Oreo dip is super easy to make and takes just 10 minutes. Need an easy sweet treat? Everyone loves Oreos! Complete it and wait for the rave reviews to flood in!
- Crush the Oreos: Place all the Oreos in a large ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to crush them. I like to grind it just enough to leave a fine powder, but still some large pieces.
- mix: In a large bowl, add cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Mix cream cheese using a hand mixer until completely smooth. Stir in the Cool Whip until completely combined, then add the crushed Oreos.
- enjoy: Enjoy with your favorite things such as graham crackers, various cookies, strawberries, waffle cones, etc.
tips and tricks
This Oreo dessert dip recipe is easy to make and comes out perfectly sweet, creamy, and rich. Here are some tips to help you stay a hit.
- Use homemade whipped cream: To use real whipped cream instead of whipped topping, whip 1 1/2 cups cold heavy cream and 3 tablespoons powdered sugar until medium-stiff peaks form. Use according to recipe card instructions.
- Can I use other Oreos? of course! You may want to stick to flavors that aren’t double-packed, but this recipe works with any of the great flavors Oreos have to offer.
- Crush the Oreos: Instead of crushing Oreos by hand, put them in a blender or food processor and pulse a few times. However, be careful not to overmix.
- Offer suggestions: Serve with Oreo cookies, graham crackers, wafer cookies, cracked waffle cones, or fresh strawberries.
store leftovers
This Oreo dip can be made a day or two before serving, but it may thicken if left out. If necessary, dilute with a tablespoon or two of milk.
- In the refrigerator: The dip can be stored in the refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap or in an airtight container, for up to 4 days.
Can Oreo dip be frozen?
We do not recommend freezing this dip. Whipped toppings cannot be stored in the freezer once thawed and used in a recipe. If you freeze it, the texture of the dip will be bad. Serve fresh or refrigerate any leftovers.
