A clip of a Genji player’s ultimate being easily defeated by a single support has sparked a massive discussion in the Overwatch 2 community.
Balance in Overwatch 2 has been, and will continue to be, a huge topic of discussion among players. As different metas come and go, there are always certain heroes and mechanics that dominate them.
However, support has long been such a powerful role that support players have had to defend themselves from accusations that their role is the best in the game.

Support has jumped from one of the least popular roles to one of the most popular as players discover the power to deal damage. and People who also heal at the same time and play heroes like Baptiste, Zenyatta, and Ilari often deal more damage than DPS players. I can’t say anything about the infamous DPS Moira or Kiriko who can land headshots.
But that doesn’t mean the heels have gotten any weaker either. A Genji player named Hiku was laughed at by his teammates when he couldn’t defeat a single support in Ultimate, sparking a heated debate in his Overwatch 2 community.

Genji players in Overwatch 2 are healed by ULT, causing chaos
Genji is considered quite low-tier for the average player, but becomes incredibly powerful when piloted by an expert who makes the most of the mechanic.
Hiku, who calls himself the main character of Genji, used his ultimate to jump into Ana on the back line. Considering Genji is a flanker, this is a pretty standard move for him to make. It is usually ideal to eliminate supports first, and heroes like Genji perform best when they can jump into the rearguard and eliminate supports.

However, this Genji clip isn’t the only one to feature support players taking and healing tremendous amounts of damage.
Another clip from Juzu Ana’s nakedness shows that in addition to burning and exploding from her dynamite, she is once again allowing support to heal through a full load of ammo from the Ash player.

It remains to be seen whether clips like this will force the Overwatch 2 developers to weaken the support, or if they’re okay with two supports being able to 2v1 against DPS. The balance of a game like Overwatch is so delicate that weakening support can introduce many new problems.
