The Overwatch 2 S6 midseason patch is finally live on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, bringing a ton of changes to the game’s cast of heroes.
Overwatch 2 finally added a Hero Mastery mode with this recent update, giving players the chance to compete on obstacle courses and record high scores on global leaderboards.
This patch introduces the Overwatch Anniversary Event to OW2, bringing back unique challenges and game modes such as Battle of Olympus, Catch-A-Malley, and Mischief and Magic, which will arrive on September 19th.

This patch has a lot to offer when it comes to hero balance. Orisa, her threatening and dominant S6 meta tank, has had her Fortify abilities nerfed with increased cooldowns and 25 less overhealth.
Orisa has received a major nerf after dominating the meta.
Zarya, one of Orisa’s only true counters, also receives a buff in the form of her protective barrier. Her abilities are now larger with more HP increases and reduced cooldowns.
The developers are also making adjustments to Bastion after buffing him for the start of the season. His A-36 tactical grenade damage has been reduced from his 30 to 15.

Multiple support heroes have been tweaked in this patch, with the entire roster receiving a global passive nerf that will now start self-healing after 1.5 seconds.
Baptiste is receiving a major recovery nerf.
Elsewhere, Baptiste’s regenerative burst is reduced, reducing her instantaneous healing power and reducing her healing power over time.
