Travelers from Heathrow Airport are facing flight delays due to unstaffed staff and air traffic control restrictions due to strong winds.
A spokesperson for air traffic control provider Nas said: “Due to sudden staff absences in the tower and strong winds at Heathrow, temporary air traffic restrictions are currently in place.”
“We are working closely with Heathrow Airport and airlines to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum. Passengers should check with their airline about the status of their flight. Restrictions of this nature ensure safety. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
“We expect the situation to improve this afternoon,” they added.
