Cybersecurity is a landscape defined by constant evolution, and guardians of data and technology are locked in a continuous battle against hidden and ever-adapting adversaries.
The partnership between Ivanti Software Inc. and Securin Inc. holds great promise in addressing cybersecurity challenges in today’s digital environment, Ivanti Software Inc. said. Srinivas Mukkamala (pictured, right), Chief Product Officer at Ivanti Software. This collaboration will provide organizations with improved visibility into cyber threats and vulnerabilities, as well as data-driven insights and domain expertise to proactively manage cyber risks and protect critical assets. It is intended to be protected.
“Do you have a clear understanding of your risks? That’s number one, that’s risk management,” Mukkamala said. “We know that all leaders, regardless of size, focus on risk management. is considered an advantage.”
Mukkamala and Kiran Chinnagangannagari Securin co-founder and chief product and technology officer (left) speaks with theCUBE analysts rebecca knight Broadcasting exclusively on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s live streaming studio. They discussed the role Ivanti and Securin are playing in fortifying the digital realm against evolving threats. (*Disclosure below.)
The growing need for cybersecurity in today’s digital world
In today’s digital world, security and technology teams face significant challenges. Mukkamala said security talent shortages and IT budget constraints are placing constraints on organizations’ ability to effectively defend against cyber threats.
“If you look at what’s going on, we’re catching up to what’s called a symmetrical war,” he said. “What has happened, especially in the last three years, is that we have seen hidden enemies. We don’t know who they are. We don’t know where they’re coming from and how they’re going to attack us. . We are starting to see a big impact.”
This alarming trend highlights the need for robust cybersecurity measures. Mukkamala noted that government agencies around the world, including the U.S. Congress and the White House, recognize the severity of the problem and are proactively passing laws and executive orders to address it.
The Ivanti and Securin partnership is a response to these challenges. It aims to provide organizations with the tools and insights they need to strengthen their cybersecurity posture. Both Mukkamala and Chinnagangannagari say cybersecurity shouldn’t be a privilege that only large organizations have access to, but rather a necessity for all organizations, regardless of size.
“You have to fight AI with AI. You have to fight machine speed and operational speed,” Mukkamala said. “Unfortunately, we are still far behind in addressing the risks posed by machine learning and artificial intelligence. The law will force everyone to invest, adopt and keep everyone safe. [that] While they are resilient, they are protecting the critical data they are collecting from consumers and citizens. ”
Addressing vulnerability management in a continuous cyber threat environment
Traditionally, organizations conducted periodic assessments to identify vulnerabilities. However, in the face of rapidly evolving cyber threats, this approach has become outdated. Continuous monitoring is essential to keep up with today’s ever-changing threat landscape.
“We were able to actually integrate all of this data and help our customers understand their exposure,” Mukkamala said. “By gaining crystal clear visibility and leveraging their intelligence, data and expertise to prioritize what those exposures are, we are helping our customers be truly proactive rather than reactive. I will help you become that person.”
Continuous monitoring continuously scans for vulnerabilities and collects vast amounts of data. This data-driven approach presents its own set of challenges, including the need to sift through large datasets to identify critical vulnerabilities. According to Chinnagangannagari, Ivanti and Securin recognize the importance of data analysis in this process and the need for expertise to understand the information collected.
“Generative AI is something that has taken the world by surprise over the past year or so,” he said. “The use of AI has increased significantly, but many people are using it without understanding how to use it. [these] The models generated by AI are trained and know what data is being used and how the data will be used. We want to explore how organizations can leverage AI in more meaningful and secure ways. ”
Additionally, this partnership highlights the importance of context in vulnerability management. Prioritization is important because not all vulnerabilities are the same. Ivanti and Securin’s joint effort aims to provide organizations with the threat context they need to effectively prioritize vulnerabilities. By understanding which vulnerabilities are actively being exploited by threat actors, organizations can focus their efforts on what matters most, Chinnagangannagari added.
“We’re looking at a completely different lens and looking at what these threat actors are doing,” he said. “How do we incorporate that into the overall product that we’re building? This is where security and vulnerability products come in. [which] teeth [an] The result of extensive research in collaboration with DARPA. ”
