You might think that busy New Yorkers would turn to cocktails and workout classes to de-stress.
But there’s a new unconventional hobby that’s catching on among urban youth: sex lessons called pegging.
An increasingly popular Brooklyn organization is offering workshops for people interested in the experience but not sure where to start.
For those unfamiliar with the term, pegging refers to a woman using an artificial penis to penetrate a man for sexual pleasure.
And one writer has even dipped their toes into the trend, taking part in a class they’ve dubbed “pegfest”, quizzing heterosexual men about their sexual preferences.
Bindu Banasinath, cut Relationship journalist John McClellan attended an hour-long class run by The Taylor Group, where six men aged between 20 and 60 practiced pegging.
Their lifestyles ranged: some were financial professionals, others students and doting fathers.
The participants had a wide range of experience, some were experienced and others were doing it for the first time.
Classes are Mistress led and she also teaches workshops on bondage, foot fetish, roleplay and more.
For just one hour, these women will teach their students, or “submissives,” the ins and outs of anal sex.
Mr. Banasinas watched as Mistress Red, who was in charge for the night, demonstrated how to safely cleanse the anus and locate the prostate.
Next, Mistress Redd moved into the tutorial phase of the evening, where participants learned whether their sphincter muscles were relaxed enough to accept a sex toy, or if they were still in the training phase.
Then, using their fingers protected by latex gloves and condoms, the Mistresses assessed each student’s muscles one by one.
Mistress Red said she doesn’t really enjoy leading pegging nights, but she did have some positive things to say.

“It’s a really fun transformation. It’s amazing how just putting in a sex toy can change you physically and mentally. It completely changes you as a person,” she said.
Taylor, the group’s founder, said the practice allows men to “relax and be holes”.
It’s hard to know how common pegging is, since what happens in the bedroom often stays in the bedroom.
However, searches for the term have been steadily increasing over the past two decades, peaking in July 2022. According to Google data:.
Simply put, pegging stimulates the prostate, a sensitive, pea-sized gland located below a man’s bladder, and puts pressure on the rectum.
Anal penetration produces a physiologically similar orgasm. For female orgasm.
Although many people associate prostate play with homosexual relationships, pegging is typically a heterosexual act.
The dungeon will be open to the public in Brooklyn’s Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood since September 2023.
Taylor’s group was kicked out of another Brooklyn neighborhood in 2019 after local residents complained the group was bringing “freaks and perverts” to the area.
