It’s that time of year again. Now is the time to get your flu shot and coronavirus booster.
You may be wondering, “Can I get both on the same day?” Well, the experts have the answer.
A major study shows that giving the coronavirus and influenza shots together produces a stronger antibody response.
The study was presented Monday at Vaccine Summit Boston, an annual scientific conference. Antibody levels were measured in 42 healthcare workers in Massachusetts.
Twelve people received a bivalent COVID-19 booster and seasonal influenza vaccination on the same day. The other 30 people received their shots on separate days. The study found that people who were vaccinated together had higher levels of antibodies against the coronavirus.
It is important to note that this study was not published in a scientific journal.
Scientists say they hope to replicate this data with this year’s vaccine.
