More details are pouring in a week before the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are officially unveiled at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event in San Jose, California. The latest rumor concerns something small but probably very influential. Screen touch responsiveness.
According to prolific leaker Ice Universe, the touch response speed of all three devices’ screens will be increased by 10%. This makes the touch response smoother and faster. This is the time it takes for your device to respond to a touch.
10% isn’t much, but it’s definitely better than nothing, and One UI can still make some improvements in the perceived smoothness of the overall experience. This definitely looks interesting as it has the potential to help with that. I’d say I’m cautiously optimistic and moderately excited.
This improvement may also improve the experience of using the S Pen stylus on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. We’ve also previously heard that the S24 family will feature the brightest Super AMOLED screen ever, with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.
For comparison, the Galaxy S23 series has a peak brightness of 1,750 nits, but is 100% fully visible even in direct sunlight. So the wow factor (when used in very bright, very sunny conditions) is increased this year.
