Dozens of workers have lost their jobs since the carpet factory closure was announced.
The Aquafil factory in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire, has been marked for closure.

A company spokesperson told the newspaper: “The coronavirus and Brexit have created difficult trade conditions in the UK.
“Amid this recent economic downturn, Aquafil UK is finding it increasingly difficult to meet its planned production capacity through its existing customers.
“This led to management decisions to lower cash flow prices, leading to lower gross margins and subsequent problems.”
They continued: “We need to consider how we can reduce overhead costs and consider the viability of the site, which has been losing money for five years and any further losses are unsustainable. had.
“Therefore, we propose to close the factory. Closing the factory therefore means that all employees are at risk of being laid off. We will carry out a consultation process.”
But workers are left with uncertainty as union leaders scramble to save many jobs that could be lost.
GMB organizer Chris Kennedy said: “Our priority is to pull every lever possible to save these jobs and this factory. Our efforts will be directed towards ensuring that you receive your full payment and receive all possible support to find a new job.
“It’s a sad day for them and their community.”
