The heart-pounding ride will feature a snowmobile-style vehicle and immerse passengers in penguin research missions, according to the theme park. Thrill-seekers can look forward to two exhilarating launches and a maze of twists and turns as they zip along his 3,020-foot track that winds indoors and outdoors. The coaster reaches speeds of up to 43 miles per hour, giving riders a breathtaking adrenaline rush.
Aboard Penguin Trek, riders step into the shoes of intrepid researchers as they embark on a thrilling expedition across an icy wasteland. The adventure begins with a close call in an ice cave and intensifies as the riders enter the open-air coaster track.
“We are excited to add our newest coaster to SeaWorld Orlando’s impressive lineup of coasters in spring 2024,” said John Peterson, president of SeaWorld Orlando. “This family launch coaster embodies the spirit of adventure and exploration, offering an immersive journey through the wonders of Antarctica while further connecting our mission and commitment to animal care, education and research. We know our guests are looking forward to new thrills for the whole family and are excited to work with our long-time partner B&M to redefine the family launch coaster experience.”
What truly sets Penguin Trek apart is its jaw-dropping finale. When the coaster stops, guests will not find themselves in a pseudo-penguin colony, rather than at SeaWorld. He will be in the heart of Orlando’s actual penguin habitat. This unprecedented experience allows visitors to see these fascinating birds up close, adding unforgettable animal encounters to the thrill of the coaster.
SeaWorld says the family coaster is suitable for riders between 42 inches and 77 inches tall.
This will be the eighth coaster the theme park has added to its exciting portfolio.
The world-class design is by Bolliger & Mabillard, B&M, a renowned design and manufacturer known for excellence in roller coaster engineering. The firm helped him design Pipeline: The Surf Coaster, another one of the park’s thrilling attractions, which opened earlier this year.
Construction of a new coaster is currently underway near the park Antarctic penguin empire.
