Perhaps one of the biggest highlights of this year’s Game Awards show was Sega’s announcement that it would be reimaging five classic IPs, including: jet set radio, crazy taxiGolden Ax, Shinobi, Streets of Rage.
In case you missed it, according to the official trailer, it looks like there’s more to come. The announcement goes on to say that “upcoming projects across a variety of genres are currently in various stages of development” and are planned for release “in the coming years.”
Commenting on this announcement, Shuji Utsumi, Co-Chief Operating Officer of SEGA and CEO of SEGA of America, said:
Shuji Utsumi: “We’re digging into our heritage and reimagining several franchises to bring these games to more users around the world. Today’s announcement is the latest in our efforts. It’s just the beginning. First and foremost, our goal is to create great games with memorable characters and worlds.” As we release these projects in the coming years, we hope that fans of all ages will I hope you look to our future with anticipation. ”
