Dec 4 (Reuters) – Walls fell on Monday as investors grew cautious ahead of a number of economic data this week that are likely to test views on interest rate cuts by the U.S. Federal Reserve early next year. The city’s main indexes opened lower.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI) fell 156.12 points (0.43%) to 36,089.38.
The S&P 500 Index (.SPX) opened 30.26 points, or 0.66%, lower at 4,564.37, and the Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC) was down 136.37 points, or 0.95%, at 14,168.66 at the opening bell.
