Sonu Sood’s multifaceted role in cyber crime thriller ‘Fateh’
Sonu Sood, who is synonymous with philanthropy and goodwill, has embarked on a new venture. The name is also a movie. Fateh. His motives are as admirable as ever. It is about bringing awareness to the prevalent and often overlooked issue of cybercrime in India. In this project, Sood is not only working as an actor but also as director, producer and screenwriter.
Revealing the inspiration behind Fateh
Fateh’s roots lie in Sood’s real-life experiences and encounters during the pandemic. It was around this time that a large number of cybercrime victims approached him seeking medical and educational assistance. The stories of these victims, their losses and struggles were the driving force behind the development of Fateh.
One particular incident had a deep impact on Sood. A man from Lucknow fell prey to cybercriminals while desperately trying to secure an ambulance for his ailing mother. A scammer claimed his hard-earned money. It was Mr Sood who ultimately intervened to arrange an ambulance, but the incident left a lasting impact on him.
A journey of research and discovery
The creation of Fateh didn’t happen overnight. It was developed after a year and a half of extensive research, including numerous discussions with cybercrime authorities and ethical hackers. Mr. Sood has further strengthened his commitment to this activity and film by coming across cyber crime cases every day and registering multiple FIRs against him across India.
Fateh: A glimpse of the storyline
In Fateh, Sood steps into the shoes of a tech-savvy agent, a savior of people trapped in cybercrime. While he acknowledges that older generations are more vulnerable to these crimes, young people are increasingly becoming victims of these crimes despite, or perhaps because of, their technological savvy. It also notes a worrying trend.
Jacqueline Fernandez also joins Sood. The movie is currently in post-production and expectations are high for its release.
Sonu Sood continues to extend a helping hand to Fateh, but this time through the medium of cinema. He wants to bring change and security into the digital lives of millions of people and aims to raise his awareness about looming yet largely unnoticed threats.
