In case you missed it previously, Nintendo has finally released a “Mature” rated Nintendo 64 app for Western Switch Online users, which was announced to coincide with the return of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and the return of Rare’s legendary title Perfect Dark “with online multiplayer capabilities.”
The app only adds a single home menu tile and there’s no way to integrate these games with existing N64 releases, but that’s the way it is. On a more positive note, this means that more mature-themed Nintendo 64 titles may one day be able to appear in the expansion pack service (though that’s just how it is). It’s Conker’s Bad Fur Day).
The “adult” app first appeared on the Switch in Japan last November alongside the release of GoldenEye 007 and Jet Force Gemini, and notably, these games managed to avoid being added to Nintendo’s adult app versions in the West.
To download this second Switch Online N64 app, head over to the Switch eShop, navigate to the NSO section, and you’ll find the app next to your existing applications. Of course, you’ll also need access to the Expansion Pack subscription tier to play these games on your Switch.
You can find out more about what’s been added to the latest NSO offering in a previous post from Nintendo Life.
