Mr. Shivash Kabilaj, IG of the Umbara Mountains, today formed a team of well-trained officers to deal with cybercrime cases, give victims justice on time, collect money, and cyber criminals. He said the criminals could be arrested as soon as possible. .
A workshop was held at the IG office in Ambala to make police aware of cybercrime modus operandi and the strategies employed during investigations. The workshop was attended by all cyber crime teams from the Umbara Mountains, Police Department, Panchkula, State Crime Department and his DSPs involved.
According to a release issued by IG firm Ambala Range, people are being scammed and their hard-earned money debited from their bank accounts by cybercriminals despite having secure online payment systems. Today, the amount of money involved in cybercrime is many times higher than that of typical property-related crimes.
Workshop participants were introduced to Internet banking systems, debit cards, credit cards, and systems used by various online payment companies. It also provided information on various techniques cybercriminals employ to trick people, such as cloning ATMs and creating fake accounts. Police officers were briefed on how to collect and use evidence during cybercrime investigations.
“A workshop will be organized to form a team of well-trained police officers to deal with cybercrime cases,” IG Kabilaj said.
