- Recruitment agency Hays said the role would pay above the average wage.
Recruitment firms predict that the most in-demand employees this year will include social workers, quantity surveyors and cybersecurity managers.
Hays said the roles would pay above average wages, adding that its research suggests half of its workers intend to look for a new job in 2024.
Mr Hayes said there was continued demand for qualified social workers due to increasing and complex care needs across the UK.
Meanwhile, other popular roles include cybersecurity managers who help organizations keep the threat of online attacks at bay, energy/carbon managers, accountants, and educational assistants with special education needs.
Cyber security managers are likely to earn the most (average salary around £84,000), followed by engineering project managers (£61,750).
Simon Winfield, chief executive of Hays, said: “Despite the economic challenges as we enter the new year, there are still just under one million unfilled jobs in the UK, and many are looking to find their next career opportunity. There are many opportunities remaining for those who wish to make the transition.” .
“The roles on our list are at the top of the wish lists of employers across the country.”
He added: “If you’re looking to change jobs in 2024, this is good news as employers are increasingly hiring based on skills and aptitude, rather than just experience and qualifications.”
“Make sure to highlight the skills you’ve acquired when applying for positions and during interviews.”
