Twitter-owned rival Threads has finally added a way to switch between multiple accounts without logging out.
The social media app announced on Thursday that users can now switch accounts on its mobile apps by long-pressing the profile icon at the bottom right. Users can click on the “Add Profile” option after long pressing to add a new profile.
This makes it easier for users to switch between work and personal files. Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, did not specify whether there is a limit to the number of accounts you can add to the profile switching feature.
Interestingly, the profile feature of the text-based social networking app was announced on the same day that Facebook let people have multiple personal profiles on the Blue app.
More than three months after its launch, Threads has started rolling out new features. Late last month, it began testing full-text search features in New Zealand and Australia. Earlier this month, the company launched the search function globally.
In September, Threads also rolled out features like turning on notifications 24 hours for a specific post And the ability to Quote posts online.
Threads’ competitors are also charging features in the competitive social media landscape. Earlier this week, Mastodon introduced version 4.2 with improved search for profiles and posts, automatic quick action suggestions in the search box, a new web interface with better topic indicators and article previews, and a new tab for privacy and access settings.
