Tinder is revamping its profile pages to make them more informative and create easier starting points for conversations. The company is launching features like profile prompts to start a conversation, profile quizzes, key information tags, and dark mode.
Let’s take a look at these new features in detail. The Match Group-owned app rolls out profile prompts so users can come up with prompts and answers such as “The key to my heart is him,” “The first item on my wish list is him,” and “Two truths and a lie.” If this sounds familiar, it’s because Hinge, another Match property, uses this type of prompt.
Users can also create a quiz about themselves so potential matches can get to know them. Tinder isn’t the only one using a question-and-answer mechanism to stimulate matches. Apps, like Hatched, use this method to uncover profiles by answering personality-related questions.
Additionally, Tinder is adding a way for users to share basic information through profile tags. These tags can relate to the user’s interests, pets, drinking habits, and zodiac signs. Tinder competitor Bumble already has a feature for sharing details about you through tags.
As Tinder rolls out new profile features and sections, the company said it’s giving the option to report specific content in these sections as well.
Tinder is also updating other elements of the app, such as changes to the UI, and new animations including those for “It’s a Match!” screen, dark mode setting.
Last month, Tinder rolled out a feature to let your friends play matchmakers by viewing and suggesting potential matches.
