Monday morning’s commute got off to a rocky start as a tractor-trailer crash shut down southbound Interstate 93, snarling traffic for eight to nine miles. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation reported that one lane had been reopened by just after 7 a.m.

WCVB I reported a crash. A tractor-trailer carrying a crushed car was involved and traffic was being diverted on Dascom Road.
MassDOT tweeted at 6:21 a.m. that all southbound lanes of the freeway were closed in Wilmington due to the crash.
MassDOT officials said the rollover crash occurred near mile marker 35 and detours are in place.
MassDOT officials first reported the situation in a post on X, the platform officially known as Twitter, at 5:18 a.m.
“All lanes are currently closed,” MassDOT officials wrote. “Traffic is being detoured. Expect delays.”
