CXO today In an exclusive interview with Mr. Hussain Zaidi, Vice President, Kindril India, Kindril Practice
- can Can you elaborate on Kyndryl’s strategic growth journey and transformational initiatives since its spin-off from IBM?
Our transformation is well underway. We’re on a mission to build the best technology services company in the industry. Our strength lies in our operating and go-to-market models tailored to our customers’ needs. We are now not tied to a specific technology solution or platform and have the freedom to recommend the best solution to meet your requirements. We believe our customers are reaping the benefits of this approach, which focuses on remediating low-margin accounts that were a legacy of alliances, advanced delivery, and old Prespin IBM service agreements. This is evident from the results of the 3A efforts.
On the advanced delivery front, automation with AI-powered Kyndryl Bridge is driving progress with customers. More than 500 global enterprise customers are running on Bridge, and he expects more than 1,000 customers by the end of the financial year. Kyndryl Bridge’s capabilities have reduced the number of incidents per month per customer server by an average of 74 percent. On the alliance front, in the first half of fiscal 2024, he recognized over $180 million in revenue related to his cloud hyperscaler alliance. This is on track for his hyperscaler revenue goal of more than $300 million for fiscal year 2024.Continue to build account relationships based on trust and value while addressing elements of contracts with substandard margins
Kyndryl Consult provides end-to-end solutions for clients by identifying their strategic objectives and developing a digital transformation roadmap using advisory assets, accelerators and capabilities. Key to Kyndryl’s broader strategy It is also an element.
We also had a two-year timeline to migrate to our proprietary Kyndryl system and leave behind legacy IBM processes and systems. We moved to a platform strategy using industry standard technology and went from 1,800 apps to just a few hundred. This was a complex but rewarding task.
- How does Kyndryl leverage cloud technologies in its solutions and how do these align with current industry trends and client requirements?
Partnering with hyperscalers will help Kyndryl explore new territory and enable our customers to truly optimize their cloud journey. We’ve built an ecosystem that’s much more relevant to our customers than what we could offer with Prespin, allowing us to offer more valuable services than we were able to offer before. We have also significantly expanded our top-level partnerships with Microsoft, AWS, Google, Cisco, Dell, Oracle, Red Hat, SAP, VMware, and more.
One of the greatest strengths of our approach is the ability to provide choice. Through our partnership, we never lock you into a single cloud environment. Instead, we act as a trusted advisor, understanding your unique needs and recommending the best cloud provider based on your specific workload, industry, and compliance requirements. This flexibility is critical to expanding our reach and attracting a diverse customer base.
These partnerships also unlock a world of possibilities. The appeal of each collaboration is as follows.
Microsoft Azure: Our partnership with Azure allows us to leverage robust platform services and tools such as Azure Arc and Dynamics 365 to build industry-specific cloud solutions. This will help drive deeper digital transformation in sectors such as healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.
Amazon Web Services (AWS): We leverage the global reach of AWS and leading data analytics services such as Amazon Redshift and SageMaker to create data-driven solutions and accelerate our customers’ cloud migration efforts. The recently signed multi-year strategic collaboration agreement focuses on the joint development of generative AI and ML solutions, further driving innovation for Indian companies.
Google Cloud Platform (GCP): GCP focuses on open source technology and cutting-edge AI/ML capabilities, providing a complete complement of expertise. We work together to develop AI-powered solutions for companies in a variety of sectors, including retail and smart cities.
Kyndryl’s cloud practice also includes engineering services, pre-built reference architectures, and multi-hyperscaler capabilities. Our Experience Center provides clients with an immersive experience of cloud migration. We excel at managing mission-critical applications and prioritize security throughout their lifecycle. We recently introduced cloud-native services to facilitate seamless migration, modernization, and optimization in hybrid and multicloud environments.
