She didn’t want to play a mile-high game of musical chairs.
A female passenger who refused to swap seats with her father to sit with his wife and young daughter has been honored online. Now, a Reddit post has been posted detailing how she was denied a switcheroo on her flight. explode online I posted it on Sunday.
“They gave me dirty looks the entire flight,” the poster explained in a thread posted to the forum’s popular Am I The A-hole section.
According to the unidentified flyer, she was boarding the plane when she noticed an intruder sitting in her aisle seat.
“A man (in his 40s?) was sitting next to his wife and daughter,” explained the Redditor, who was not thrilled about the forced transfer.
“He was sitting in the seat that I specially reserved and paid a lot for, so I kindly asked him to move (I usually sit in an aisle seat and it’s comfortable).” she remembered. “He refused to move and asked me to move to the middle seat.”
When the traveler told him she wasn’t using the middle seat, her father became furious and told her the airline had messed up the seats. At that point, a flight attendant arrived and forced the man back into his original seat, according to the post.
The poster said that even though he felt he was in the right, he still felt like a “hole in the hole.” “It was a very short flight (less than 2 hours) so her daughter was very sad that her father wasn’t sitting nearby even though her mother was sitting with her. ” explained the traveler.
To make matters worse, her family showed off her “dirty appearance” throughout the flight, according to the post.
Interestingly, the majority of Redditors supported the poster, citing the fact that she had reserved a seat.
“NTA you reserved a particular seat for a reason,” one advocate argued. “I could have booked another seat. It was a short flight, so even if the girl was sad, she wasn’t without her father for a long time.”
They further added, “This too is part of life, she had a mother and was fine. Don’t let them get to you. You did nothing wrong.”
“Your reservation has been made. that Take a seat,” another announced. “If three people want to sit together, it’s their responsibility to reserve seats together. You can ask if someone else wants to change seats, but the person who was originally assigned the seat. has the right to say no.”
Even the alleged flight attendant supported the original poster’s decision to play Tetris in his airplane seat. “Definitely NTA, even if it feels unfair to the family,” wrote one person who identified themselves as a flight attendant. “You would have been great if you had paid me to give you your seat, but you are not obligated to do so.”
They also said, “Please get an aisle seat.” If I were on a plane, I’d probably try to find another aisle seat and try to make everyone happy, but that’s always possible. It does not mean. ”
A man was praised for refusing to swap seats with a pregnant woman who wanted to sit closer to the toilet in a similar incident last month.
