In light of the Indian intelligence file on Khalistani elements operating from foreign lands, it is clear that Canada harbors individuals with strong links to extremist activities throughout Khalistani. Until now HT It reported about 18 individuals associated with the Khalistani-Ghansters Association operating from Canada. The file also reveals that Tehal Singh and his associates were actively involved in promoting secession and violence in Punjab during their stay in Canada.
Tehal Singh, originally from Jalandhar, Punjab, resides in Toronto, Ontario, and is closely associated with Gurjit Singh Cheema, a member of the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF), a banned terrorist group. Singh and Cheema were instrumental in contacting Man Singh during his visit to Toronto in 2015, where discussions took place on the creation of an independent state of Khalistan.
Tehal Singh and Gurjit Cheema encouraged Man Singh to recruit Sikh youth to their radical cause upon his return to Punjab. They also provided funds to further their agenda, raising concerns about potential radicalization among Canadian Sikh youth.
Tehal Singh’s history in Punjab is tainted by involvement in various criminal cases, including arms smuggling and terrorist acts. He has been declared a proclaimed offender (PO) in multiple cases, and remains a key figure in promoting extremism and militancy among Sikh youth in Punjab.
Malkit Singh
Malkit Singh, also known as Fauji, was based in Surrey, British Columbia while actively involved in ISYF and Babbar khalsa International (BKI). He played an important role in procuring home-made weapons for extremist units, aiming to target Hindu Shiv Sena leaders and Sikh preachers involved in sacrilege incidents in Punjab.
Malkit Singh introduced the individuals to terrorist Jaswant Singh, alias Kala, showing the extent of his association with militant elements.
Manveer Singh Dohra
Another Khalistani extremist, Manveer Singh Dohra, originally from Jalandhar, Punjab, and currently residing in St. John’s, British Columbia, has been actively involved in identifying and radicalizing Sikh youth for extremist activities in Punjab. He sent money to an ISYF unit member to purchase locally made weapons and personally visited Punjab to motivate unit members to target those responsible for sacrilege incidents.
These revelations paint a troubling picture of Canada being a safe haven for individuals with ties to pan-Khalistani extremist activities. The Canadian government, led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, is facing increasing scrutiny for its failure to address this pressing issue.
