Unemployment claims in Louisiana rose in the second week of June, up about 7.3% from the previous week. Figures released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
The number of unemployment insurance claims filed in the week ending June 8 was 2,193, up from 2,043 the previous week.
However, claims are down 16.4% compared to the same week last year.
The number of renewal applications also increased, with 13,030 renewal applications submitted in the second week of June, up from 12,224 the previous week.
